Inside the IONIQ 5, the lines between living space and moving space are being blurred. A larger flat floor, highly adjustable front seats that can be fully reclined, and a flexible centre console that can be moved throughout the cabin, make for an extraordinary experience.

Eco-friendly lifestyle without limits
Environmentally friendly materials are used extensively in the IONIQ 5, like eco-processed leather and recycled yarn. What’s more, raw materials extracted from sugar cane are used on the headliner, carpet and seat covers. A solution that is both recyclable and beautiful. The innovative use of natural materials is another contribution to sustainability in our manufacturing processes, making the IONIQ 5 less reliant on oil-based products.
Eco friendly fabric
Up to 32 plastic bottles are shredded into plastic chips. These chips are melted and spun into threads that makes an inviting woven upholstery fabric. The fabric made from recycled PET bottles are used on the seats and door armrests.
Eco friendly leather
The seat, headlining and carpet fabric includes bio components extracted from sugar cane and corn, while the leather used in the IONIQ 5’s interior is dyed using flaxseed oil.
Bio paint
The IONIQ 5’s surfaces such as the dashboard, switches, steering wheel and door panels are coated with bio paint that includes oil extractions from plants such as rape flowers and corn.

The IONIQ 5 is equipped with a stellar range of intuitive smart tech to make life inside as connected as you want to be.
12.3" cluster & 12.3" touchscreen
The 12.3” infotainment touchscreen gives you access to a comprehensive menu from connectivity to preference settings. This is supplemented with a range of functions including newly included wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Wireless charging & USB-C ports
There’s a high-speed wireless charger port on the moveable centre console Universal Island. This can slide back as much as 140 mm, which means second-row passengers can also enjoy access to the cup holders and a pair of USB-C inputs. The 25-watt wireless charging unit features a cooling function that prevents smartphone overheating for added safety.
BOSE premium sound system
The available BOSE premium sound system delivers stellar performance with eight high-performance speakers optimally tuned to deliver amazing sound.
These are paired with a an external amplifier and boot mounted subwoofer to provide extra clarity, bass and definition.
Vehicle To Load charging (V2L)
V2L External Adaptor allows you to use the stored energy from the IONIQ 5 to recharge or power other electrical items. Recharge your e-bike, power electrical camping equipment, or even some domestic appliances. This is even possible when the vehicle is turned off.
The V2L system can supply AC power of 230V / 50 Hz which is the same as a standard wall socket. Drawing a maximum of 3.6kW (or 15 Amps) of power consumption.

Leading the charge into the electric era with E-GMP
IONIQ 5 is built on Hyundai’s new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This dedicated battery electric vehicle platform enables faster charging, increased driving range, more interior space and better handling. The battery pack’s position within the wheelbase ensures ideal weight distribution between the front and rear and a low centre of gravity for improved handling performance.
Designed for safety
E-GMP embraces unique Electric Vehicle design characteristics such as short overhangs and a long wheelbase with collision safety, maximised passenger space, and battery safety.
Electric performance
The E-GMP platform can be specified with either single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations. Thanks to the low centre of gravity, handling is stable and assured in both variants.

Battery and range
Pick your power and preferred range. The IONIQ 5 is available in range of configurations: 63 kWh (Standard Range) or 84 kWh (Extended Range) battery options. The 63 kWh IONIQ 5 offers up to 440 km of range whilst the 2WD 84 kWh model with 19" alloy wheels will travel up to 570 km.
Furthermore, you can choose a dual motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration which provides additional performance, along with sure footed grip thanks to it's HTRAC AWD drivetrain.
Regenerative braking
Equipped with cutting-edge technology for intelligent driving, the IONIQ 5’s regenerative braking system charges the battery while driving by using the electric motor to slow the vehicle. You can control the level of energy that the system regenerates and stores in the battery by adjusting the level of regenerative braking with the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The higher the level, the more the car slows and charges the battery when you take your foot off the accelerator.
Holding the left paddle shifter activates maximum strength of regenerative braking and you can slow the car to a complete stop in this way without having to press the conventional brake pedal.
Ultra-fast charging / Fast charging
Enjoy the speed and convenience of best-in-class charging times. No time to wait? Don’t worry, you can add 85 km of range in 5 minutes at an ultra-fast charging station – and charge from 10 to 80% in just 20 minutes!
Hyundai’s world’s-first patented technology supports both 400V and 800V charging infrastructure without the need for additional components or adapters. Which means you can get in and out of rapid charging stations faster, because you have the flexibility of using a different charger if one type is occupied.
Home charging / AC charging
Depending on your grid connection at home or the type of charging station you have access to, the IONIQ 5 gives you a range of flexible charging possibilities aside from ultra-fast DC charging. You can charge at home overnight to take advantage of off-peak rates or top up at the grocery store when you’re shopping – the powerful 10.5 kW on-board charger gives you a range of flexible possibilities.
Hyundai SmartSense safety features
The IONIQ 5 provides peace of mind with a full suite of active and passive safety features resulting in a 5 star ANCAP safety rating.
Hyundai’s SmartSenseTM technology provides active driver assistance. Through the use of powerful sensors and cameras, SmartSenseTM is able to constantly monitor your surrounding environment for hazards or danger. Should a collision be detected the system will alert and then aid the driver to defuse the dangerous situation. In addition, IONIQ 5 also includes seven airbags as standard, providing the ultimate protection for occupants.
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)
Stops your car fast, even if you’re distracted. FCA alerts you to slowing or stopped vehicles as well as cyclists and pedestrians in your path – and automatically applies full braking power if you don’t react in time.
Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)
Delivering more safety in dense traffic, BCA will warn you and automatically apply the left or right brakes and control the steering when a vehicle is detected in your blind spot and you begin to change lanes.
Lane Following Assist (LFA)
Keeps you centred and safer. When activated, it keeps the vehicle centred in its lane at speeds between 0 and 185 kilometres per hour on highways and city streets.
Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA)
This clever feature for city driving alerts the driver when the vehicle in front departs from an idle state, like at a stoplight or in a traffic jam.
Driver Attention Warning (DAW)
When a pattern of fatigue or distraction is identified, the system gets your attention with an alert and pop-up message suggesting a break.
