Programme Overview

The EV Special Care Programme provides specialised inspections at intermediate intervals and care for certain model year EVs between their standard routine maintenance intervals, it’s designed to provide you with additional peace of mind with your Hyundai EV.

Eligibility & Schedule

Available for all Hyundai electric vehicle models (Model Year 2023 onwards) that operate on a 2-year/30,000 km standard routine maintenance schedule.

The EV Special Care Programme serves as an intermediate inspection interval between the standard routine maintenance intervals, based on mileage and vehicle age (whichever occurs first).

Programme Benefits

  1. Vehicle Operation - Battery state of health (SoH) monitoring and high-voltage systems
  2. Software checks and available updates (including campaigns), if applicable
  3. Early identification of potential issues -  If any concerns are detected during your Intermediate Inspection, your Hyundai Dealer / Service Agent will fully explain the findings and recommend appropriate next steps)
  4. Preventative maintenance recommendations

Factory Warranty Coverage

  • Participation in the EV Special Care programme is entirely optional but recommended.
  • Your vehicle's factory warranty remains fully intact whether or not you choose to participate in the EV Special Care Programme.
  • Non-participation will not void or reduce any existing warranty coverage.
  • Future standard services and repairs will be provided with the same level of care regardless of programme participation.
  • It is strongly recommended to adhere to the standard routine maintenance schedule.

Booking & Cancellation

  • Appointments can be scheduled directly with your local Hyundai Dealer / Service Agent or “click” on the “Book Now” icon and Hyundai New Zealand will be in contact with you.
  • 24-hour cancellation notice is requested for all appointments.
  • Rescheduling is available at no additional cost.

Insulation Resistance

Insulation resistance is a safety measure that ensures the vehicle, and the customer are protected from high-voltage system.
It is measured in ohms (Ω) and is continuously monitored by the vehicle in real time. Should the resistance drop below a safe threshold, the vehicle automatically cuts off the high voltage to protect the vehicle occupants.

Voltage Deviation

The high-voltage battery is made up of many smaller battery cells. The vehicle continuously manages the voltage of each cell to keep them balanced and operating at similar levels.
If the voltage difference between cells (called "voltage deviation") becomes too large, it may indicate a problem, and battery repair or replacement might be required.

Check the 3-way Valve

To ensure it controls the direction of coolant flow based on the coolant's temperature. This helps regulate the temperature of key components in the electric vehicle, ensuring they operate efficiently.
The valve is inspected to ensure it is functioning correctly.

Fault Code Diagnosis

Scan the vehicle systems for real-time faults or history faults.

Underbody Impact Damage Check

Strong impact to the vehicle's underbody can damage the battery.
Underbody is inspected for any signs of impact that could affect battery safety.

Damaged high-voltage cables or connectors can cause short circuits.
Inspected to ensure safe power delivery.
